How to install composer

You can install composer locally or, if you have sufficient privileges, globally.

First, install it locally:

curl -sS | php

check if it's working

php composer.phar

You can now use it in the directory where you installed it. If you want to use it elswhere, you have to install it there too (or make a symlink).

If you have root or sudo privileges you can do the following to install composer globally:

chmod +x composer.phar
mv composer.phar /usr/local/bin/composer

you can chose any other location on your execuable path ofcourse. It depends on your system.

Now, you can use composer like that, in any directory of your system

composer install
